Apperance and behavior

Bane is used to sticking out in a room. Tall, long limbs, and a book in his hands, it is not uncommon to see him walking through the streets of Limsa Lominsa paying little to no attention to the world around him while towering over the crowd.Like many former students of Sharlayan, Bane is always in the midst of studying something. He is rarely seen without research tucked under his arm or a bag of books in his hands. But just because he is the scholarly type does not mean he does not like to get a little dirty.His hair, white as snow, and his eyes bright yellow with a bright limbal ring to match, he usually keeps himself looking tidy and well together. His outfits tyipcally match the weather, the event, or a simple dressed back casual shirt ready for the beach.Those that encounter Bane for the first time will find him apologetic, nervous, and fidgety. But once getting to know him, his best way of showing others his love is to allow them to be in the room with him while he studies. Even if quiet, sharing space with someone is something Bane considers an exercise in trust.

History

Born to traders in the Azim Steppe, Bane grew up as a child among his tribe, the Mol. However, he did not stay long. His parents quickly moved to Kugane as their trade business grew into full-fledge dmerchants. And as quickly as he began to call Kugane home, he again moved, to the ports of Limsa Lominsa.It was there, bouncing from ship to ship that Bane began to find peace watching the waves crash in. He quickly started to collect books and found himself sitting on the docks, feet in the water, reading about the basics of magical theory.From his time in the Steppes to his days before Sharlayan, Bane's mother wanted to ensure he could properly defend himself. While he was not a fighter, she taught him the tradition of Dancing passed down throughout the women in their family. An only child, his mother wanted to ensure that the tradition did not die with her. Bane, while priding himself later as a scholar, does not speak about his skills and typically hides his chakrams so no one thinks of him as such.His parents quickly sent him off to Sharlayan with their newfound wealth to become the scholar they believed him to be. But within only a few years Bane learned the truth about his family. They were not, in fact, merchants. But smugglers. And when they were caught and arrested he was in Sharlayan alone, with no coin to foot the bill.That's when he started trading in information. The money came in quietly enough to pay for his education. During a time when he should have been making friends and connections, when he wasn't in the classroom or library studying, he was instead in the library or his private room studying for others.He quickly returned to Limsa Lominsa after completing his education. Advertising himself as a researcher for hire, while trading in dark tomes, deep secrets, and the goings-on of the world around him for a spot of gil.Now he spends his days deep in research of his own personal interests, like ancient magic and healing, while also digging into the libraries he has access to gather intel for those willing to pay.
